Foreign Correspondents' Programme in Finland 

The Foreign Correspondents' Programme (FCP) is a media training programme for young journalists arranged by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA). During the programme, participants gain a broad perspective on Finnish society, politics, history, economy and culture.

The programme provides an excellent opportunity to learn more about Finland, Finnish society and the Finnish way of life.

It also offers participants the means to enhance their professional skills and expand their international networks of colleagues and friends.

In 2012 MFA held an FCP alumni meeting, instead of its annual month- long FCP programme.

The alumni meeting took place in Helsinki 12 - 15 June. Participants were chosen from previous FCP programmes and represented the following countries: Austria, Brazil, Croatia, India, Israel, Japan, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States.


Alumni meeting themes included economy, energy & cleantech, education, Helsinki World Design Capital 2012 and media. The programme also incorporated meetings with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade and other decision-makers.
